Издаваемые экземпляры принадлежат к широко распространенной разновидности типового подвида (subsp. alpinus) - var. borealis (Trin.) Kryl. 1928, Фл. Зап. Сиб. 2 : 193, quoad nom., имеющей далеко выступающие из колосков ости нижних цветковых чешуй, ис обраны в пределах лесной зоны - на побережье Байкала, где вообще встречаются многие аркто-альпийские растения. Ранее изданные под названием "Alopecurus alpinus Smith." (n° 2699) экземпляры "Гербария флоры СССР" принадлежат виду A. brachystachys Bieb., так что вид A. alpinus издается нами впервые. Н. Цвелев.
