Издаваемое растение отмечалось на Дальнем Востоке сначала только для Камчатки (Комаров, 1927; Hultén, 1927; Юзепчук, 1934), затем на Сахалине (Sugawara, 1937) и позже на нижнем Амуре и Сахалине (Ворошилов, 1966). В 1979 г. Z. palustris обнаружена Н.Н. Цвелевым на юге Уссурийского флористического района. Растет в воде, на участках с илистым дном на глубине 10-30 см в устье р. Шкотовки. Для южной части Северо-Восточного Китая Китагава (Kitagawa, 1979) указывает Z. pedunculata Reichb., которая для южной Японии у Ови (Ohwi, 1965) приведена под названием Z. palustris L. var. indica (Cham.) Graebn. П. Горовой
