Вполне обособленный восточноазиатский вид, отличающийся от других узколистных форм Festuca L. Восточной Сибири и Дальнего Востока как безостыми или почти безостыми нижними цветковыми чешуями, так и анатомическим строением листовых пластинок, довольно слабо развитая склеренхима которых разделена на 5–7 продольных тяжей.
