Издаваемый вид варьирует по количеству пучков в соцветии, степени его разветвленности, что послужило поводом для выделения целого ряда подвидов (Hämet-Ahti, 1980). От близких видов J. alpinoarticulatus отличается формой листочков околоцветника: внутренние туповатые, без шипиков, наружные заостренные, с коротким шипиком. Растет на берегах рек и озер, пойменных лугах, окраинах болот. Н. Ковтонюк.
