Этот подвид встречается на п-ове Камчатка, Сахалине, Курильских о-вах и в Японии, тогда как типовой подвид - subsp. augustinowiczii - широко распространен в материковой части Дальнего Востока от побережья Охотского моря до Сев.-Вост. Китая и п-ова Корея включительно. Subsp. soyaeernsis отличается от типового подвида бурыми (а не темно-пурпурными) влагалищами нижних листьев, более широкими 3-4 (5) мм (а не 2-3 мм) шир., листовыми пластинками и более крупными, 2.7 - 3.5 (4) мм (а не 2,5 - 3 мм) дл., мешочками.
