Американский арктический вид, отмеченный в Азии только на о-ве Врангеля. На острове встречен только в одном пункте, где в заметном изобилии произрастает вблизи морского побережья. А.И. Толмачев (1971, цит. соч.) предполагал гибридное происхождение G. triflora и отнес к этому таксону несколько растений с Таймыра и Чукотки, которые правильнее считать вариациями G. affinis и G. angustiflora. Бесспорных экземпляров G. triflora в указанных районах пока не найдено. На побережье Чаунской губы встречаются растения, по облику очень напоминающие G. triflora, но с семенами, характерными для G. affine. Наиболее сходны с настоящим G. triflora растения G. ostenfeldii (A. Pors.) Petrovsky, произрастающие в дельте р. Колымы и на о-ве Врангеля. У растений издаваемой серии 2n=72. В. Петровский.
