Крупные сине-фиолетовые цветки этого вида появляются до распускания листьев. Ареал охватывает Вост. Монголию, Сев -Вост. Китай, Вост. и Зап. Сибирь, Приамурье. В Приморье найден только в окр. сел. Комиссарово Ханкайского района. Растет на степных, часто песчаных или каменистых склонах, сухих лесных опушках, песках. К. Уланова.
