Бунге l. c. пытался выделить байкальскую форму этого вида в качестве особого вида, A. baicalensis Bge., отмечая последний прижатым (не поникающим) опушением цветоносов, большим количеством черных волосков на чашечке, длиной флага (в 2 раза более длинного, чем чашечка; у A. lupulinus он будто бы только на 1/3 ее длиннее), белым, а не желтым венчиком. Эти отличия, однако, неустойчивы, и восточнее Байкала можно найти сколько угодно экземпляров, не отличимых от тех, которые растут на западном берегу Байкала. Ареал вида очень ограничен; он не переходит к востоку Яблонового хребта, т. е. отсутствует в собственно Даурии; в основном это прибайкальско-селенгинский вид. Вместе с близким фиолетовоцветным A. laguroides Pall. (Алтай-Монголия-Селенгинская Даурия) издаваемый вид представляет крайнее к востоку звено богатой видами древне-средиземноморской секции, центром которой являются предгорья Алтая и Тянь-Шаня. М.
