Сравнительно редкий на западной и центральной Чукотке вид, почти не заходящий в этом районе севернее полосы лесотундры и границы кедрового стланика. Селится преимущественно на щебнистых склонах, вершинах и террасах в кустарничково-лишайниковых сообществах, реже — у подножий скал и на береговых обрывах. Нередок на прогалинах среди зарослей кедровника и в лиственничных рединах. Т. Плиева.
