Распространен в юго-зап. части Приморья, на севере п-ова Корея, в Сев.-Вост. Китае, в долине среднего и верхнего течения р. Амура, в Забайкалье и вост. Монголии. Растет на сухих склонах сопок вместе с Cltmatis hexapetela Pall., Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, Filifolium Sibiricum (L.) Kitam., Lespedeza hedisaroides (Pall.) Kitag. и другими видами, которые имеют основной арел в Даурии, в долине среднего течения р. Амура и на Суйфуно-Ханкайской равнине ("даурские" виды). Цветет в конце мая и в июне: цветки обладают сильным запахом и активно посещаются пчелами. П. Горовой.
