Произраст в гольцовом поясе на каменистых обнажениях Восточно-Сахалинского хребта и Поронайской цепи, часто совместно с Campanula chamissonis Fed. P. uyemurae - вид, по-видимому, отдаленно родственный встречвающейся на метериковом побережье Охотского моря P. stenocarpa (Trautv. et Mey) Fed. Г. Пономарчук.
