Nodi (4)5-6(7), culmus basi simplex, ceterum (ad nodos 2-5) plus-minus ramosus. Folia scabra ad 6 mm. lata. Ligula 4-7 mm. longa, lacera. Panicula nutans (post anthesin recta?). Gluma inferior ad 4 mm. longa, anguste lanceolata ex toto atro-purpurea v. dorso viridis, praesertim ad nervum medianum eximie scabra, ceterum scabriuscula. Gluma superior paulo brevior. Palea inferior ad 3,5 mm. longa, infra medium (ad ⅓) aristata; arista scabra rectiuscula v. paulo flexa, paleam subaequans. Palea superior 2 mm. longa. Pili inaequales sat copiosi ad 3,7 mm. longi. Rudimentum 0,5-0,7 mm. longum pilis terminatum. A typo vix differt spiculis paulo brevioribus, pilis paleam excedentibus et glumis aristisque magis scabrioribus.
