Дает побеги. Стебели восходящий, б.м. резко сплюснутый, иногда почти килеватый. Влагалища слегка шероховатые. Язычек около 3 мм., закругленный. Листья (на стебле в числе 2-3) широкие, б.ч. вдоль сложенные или плоские, на верхушке быстро стянутые в колпачок. Метелка до цветения сжатая, во время цветения пирамидальная. Цветковые чешуи с обильной шерстью. Прочее, как у P. pratensis L.
Растет на моховых болотах и болотистых местах. Ср. с №№ 4933 и 5209 в моем гербарии.
