Издан в 1990 г. 1807, Lil. 3 : tab. 179; Введенский, 1935, Фл. CCCP 4 : 185; Омельчук-Мякушко, 1978, Фл. европ. ч. СССР 4 : 273. — A. saxatile auct. non Bieb. : Stearn, 1980, Fl. Europ. 5 : 54. Распространен в Сред. и Вост. Европе, на Кавказе, в Зап. Сибири и Казахстане. От близкого вида — A. saxatile Bieb. — отличается пурпуровым околоцветником, обособлен от него географически и экологически. На Кавказе при совместном обитании этих видов A. globosum растет обычно в нижнем горном поясе, a A. saxatile — в верxнем. Есть различия между этими видами и по морфологии хромосом. Г. Кудряшова.
