СССР 6 : 185. Культивируется в качестве кормового растения и местами дичает. Распространен в европ. части СССР, на Кавказе, в Зап. Европе и Сев. Африке. Близок к Т. procumbens (Bess.) Reichb. и имеет сходный с ним ареал. И. Т. Васильченко (1987) принимает эти виды за подвиды одного вида - T. caerulea s. l. Л. Подольная.
