Близка S. gmelinli Tausch и S. donetzica Dubovik. От первой отличается почти однородными, значительно более узкими и цельнокрайними долями листьев и более мелкими корзинками, от второй — голыми (а не опушенными) листьями и пленчатым коротким остроконечием (а не шиловидной колючкой до 5 мм дл.) у наружных листочков обертки. Издан в 1993 г. 1940, Бюлл. Моск. общ. исп. прир. отд. биол. 49, 1:92; Борисова, 1963, Фл. СССР 28 : 278. Описана с верховьев р. Голубой (Волгоградская обл.). Встречается на меловых задернованных склонах Нижнего Дона и Заволжья (Саратоская обл.).
