Таджикская ССР, Бадахшан, северный берег Сарезского оз., уроч. Сары-Тугай, на лугу у воды. == Tadshikistania, Badachschan, lacus Sarez, ad septentrionem versus a loco Sary-Tugai, in prato ad aquam.. Elev. 3350 m a.s.l.

1977, Новости сист. высш. раст. 14 : 231. Эндемичный вид Бадахшана. Растет в высокогорьях на лугах. По-видимому, реликт третичных лесов; сохранился в рефугиуме на северном берегу Сарезского оз., в уроч. Сары-Тугай вместе со старыми экземплярами Betula pamirica Litv. (до 80 см в диам.). От C. orientalis L. отличается более короткими пыльниками, красно-бурыми долями околоцветника и одиночными пазушными цветками. С. Иконников. Typus! Isotypus.
