Крым, близ г. Ялты, южный склон горы Ай-Петри, в сосняке и в степи на щебнистых известняковых склонах == Tauria, prope opp. Jalta, in declivitate australi montis Aj-Petri, in pineto et in steppa in clivis schistosis calcareis. Elev. 800 m a.s.l.

Полиморфный вид, распространенный главным образом в Средиземноморье и Юго-Западной Азии, где он приурочен к петрофитным сообществам высокогорий и к соснякам на южных склонах известняковых массивов. По меловым и известняковым обнажениям заходит на Восточно-Европейскую равнину. Издаваемые растения представляют собой крымскую расу вида, описанную под названием P. lithophila(=P. tragium subsp. lithophila). Анализ изменчивости признаков по всему ареалу вида свидетельствует о его единстве и нецелесообразности выделения в его пределах таксонов внутривидового ранга. (Тихомиров В., Юрцева О.)
